Tall and lanky right-arm fast-bowler Geethal Fernando destroyed the Josephian batting claiming a match bag of 14 wickets for 70 Runs (7 for 16 in the first innings including a hat-trick and 7 for 54 in the second innings) as St. Benedict’s College annihilated St. Joseph’s College by Innings and 27 runs in the Schools annual traditional encounter played for the Mack-Croner trophy which was concluded at Kotahena today. (20th Feb 2016)
Bens skipper Thulina Dilshan won the toss and elected to field first and after being 25 for 1, the Josephian batting crumbled lasting only 14.4 overs. Eight batsmen fell without troubling the scores.
