Dear Friends,

Performing an extract from “Richard the III”, St. Benedict’s College qualified to compete in the boy’s finals of the prestigious Inter Schools Shakespeare Drama Competition 2014 held at the Lionel Wendt Theater on 10th and 11th September 2014.

The Competition held for the 41st year which is organised by the Rotary Club of Colombo and the Central Y.M.C.A. Colombo attracted as many as 17 leading boys ‘schools from the Island. It is a remarkable achievement that the Benedictines were able to enter the finals by outshining leading schools such as St. Joseph’s College, St. Peter’s College, St. Thomas’ College Mt, Royal College, etc,..

Sharlon Benedict of St. Benedict’s College who is also the Head Prefect, was unanimously adjudged the Best Actor All-Island for his portrayal of Richard.

D.S. Senanayake College, Ananda College and Maris Stella College are the other finalist who will compete for the crown on Saturday, 20th September 2014 at the Bishops College Auditorium.

SO LET’S ALL RALLY ROUND AND SUPPORT OUR YOUNG BENS TO VICTORY at the FINALS!

A limited number of tickets will be available for sale from Monday, 15th September 2014 onwards at the Bishops College Auditorium.

As there will be a huge demand for tickets, I suggest you purchase your tickets ASAP.

Please circulate among the Benedictine fraternity.

Kind Rgds,
Darrel Ludowyke
